Abu Dhabi is set to create a specialized cluster for the development of smart and autonomous vehicles across land, sea, and air, known as the Smart & Autonomous Vehicle Industries (SAVI) cluster. The initiative, endorsed by Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, is expected to contribute Dh90-Dh120 billion to the UAE’s economy and generate between 30,000 to 50,000 jobs. The project aims to establish Abu Dhabi as a global hub for smart and autonomous vehicle development, leveraging the emirate’s expertise in aviation, aerospace, advanced technology infrastructure, and research and development capabilities. Strategic partnerships will be formed to develop local and global talent, utilize advanced technologies, and support sector growth.
